Michael C. Camuñez is President and CEO of Monarch Global Strategies LLC, a bi-national consulting firm providing strategic advice and advocacy to companies doing business in emerging economies, with a particular emphasis on Mexico and Latin America. Mr. Camuñez has significant experience as a senior executive, counselor, and advocate advising U.S. companies in domestic and global markets, and he possesses a unique combination of bi-partisan political, legal, economic, and international expertise. He is a frequent commentator on international trade, international economics, NAFTA and the US-Mexico relationship in the press, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR, CNBC’s Squawk Box and other media outlets.

Mr. Camuñez served from 2010 to 2013 as one of the nation’s leading commercial diplomats as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce at the International Trade Administration, where he managed a global portfolio to help lead the U.S. government’s efforts to open new markets for U.S. goods and services. He was the chief architect of the U.S.-Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue, which he proposed, coordinated, and later helped launch during President Obama’s visit to Mexico in May 2013. Mr. Camuñez previously served for two years as Special Counsel to the President in the Office of the White House Counsel, as well as Special Assistant to the President. He is a former equity partner of the global law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP and of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.

A graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Law School, Mr. Camuñez is a Director of Edison International (NYSE: EIX) and Southern California Edison and is an Independent Director of the American Funds, one of the nation’s largest families of mutual funds managed by the Capital Group. He is also a Trustee of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and of the Stanford University Board of Trustees.

Ms. Carson brings 20 years of finance, manufacturing, and supply chain management to Meekara. A graduate of Brown University, she spent 10 years investment banking at UBS Investment Bank in New York City. In 2010 she founded an apparel brand, Leota, growing it from a US-based manufacturer to a global omnichannel design and import business servicing the top retailers. Under Sarah’s leadership, Leota scaled up to become one of the fastest-growing women-led companies in the US. Sarah is a 2-time Inc. 500 CEO, a SmartCEO Future 50 award winner, has been honored in Women2Watch in Retail Disruption, and won Game Changer of the Year for 2 years straight.

Drawing on her experience growing up a world class martial artist, 2-time national Kung fu champion and world tournament competitor, Sarah knows performance under pressure. Ms. Carson serves on two foundation boards and is a sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship and start-up leadership.
